What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal. We will be in a church and kindly ask all the ladies to be modest in their attire. Please do not wear white.

What is considered 'formal'?

For men: A dark colored suit (preferably black) with a button-down shirt, tie, & black dress shoes. For women: A formal, floor-length dress that minimizes cutouts, slits, and plunging necklines. (Pinterest will be your best friend)

What is considered a modest dress?

Modest dresses do not show large amounts of cleavage, have high cut slits, a shear bodice, large cutouts, or show the midriff. If you wouldn't wear it in front of the pope, that might be a sign.

Should I come to the mass if I am not Catholic?

Absolutely! The mass is the most important event as it is when we will actually become husband and wife. If you are not Catholic or are not a Catholic in good standing, we ask that during communion you either remain seated and pray for us or, if you feel so inclined, you may go up with your arms crossed and receive a blessing.

Are children allowed to come?

As much as we love your kiddos, we are going to keep the celebration adults-only. Think of it as a little date night—no diapers, no meltdowns, just good food, great company, and dancing into the night. We hope you’ll join us for a well-deserved evening of fun!

What will the weather be like?

That is a great question. Arizona will eventually decide what it wants to do. It could be anywhere between really cold or beautiful. Do with that what you will, most of you are adults with fully formed frontal lobes.

What do I do if I have dietary restrictions?

If it is something that is not covered by our RSVP options, please text Ryan or Mary so that we may discuss with the appropriate people to make sure you can eat.

Can I bring a +1?

If your envelope or RSVP on the website indicates a guest, then we have accounted for you to bring a guest. Due to increasing costs, we have limited it to those who are married or in long term relationships.

What is the 'Catholic Gap'

This is the time in between the end of the Mass and the beginning of the reception. During this time, the bridal party and bride and groom usually do pictures.

What am I supposed to do during the Catholic gap?

The venue is about 30 minutes away from the church. You can go to a bar for a short while or maybe go to some small attractions. Scottsdale is lots of fun, I'm sure the Google has some good suggestions. At previous weddings, Mary and her friends would go to a bar close to the reception venue and pre-game cocktail hour. We just ask that you try not to arrive to cocktail hour too early as we will be finishing up photos.

Dancing!

As many of you know Ryan and I love to dance. We have worked closely with our DJ to curate a high-energy, fun playlist that will keep you on the dance floor all night! We have included links to the line dances below if you would like to learn them. We can't wait to see you on the floor!

Guest Photos

We are more than happy to take photos, but we ask that you be mindful that it is our day to celebrate our relationship and new life together. If we are dancing, please do not come on the dance floor just to take a photo or say goodbye. We love you all and our photographer has instructions to get shots of us with as many of you as possible.
